How to Set Up Meta (Facebook) App Events for Your White-Labeled Smart Online Order Mobile App

Setting up Meta Events allows you to track in-app activity, optimize Facebook ads, and measure conversions such as app installs and purchases.

Step 1: Set Up a Meta App in Meta for Developers

  1. Go to and login/create an account on https://developers.facebook.com

  2. Click My Apps > Create App

  3. Choose Consumer as the app type

  4. Enter a name for your app and your contact email

  5. Click Create App

  6. Save your App ID — you will need this for later steps

Note: The App ID uniquely identifies your mobile app and connects it to your Meta Business Account later in the process.

Step 2: Email the Meta SDK (Pixel Code) for use with your mobile apps

  • Go to the official Meta for Developers website:

  • Click “Get Started” and follow the instructions to set up the Meta SDK for Apps.

  • Choose the version you need:

    • Android: Download the Meta Android SDK

    • iOS: Download the Meta iOS SDK

  • After downloading, you’ll have a file (for example: MetaSDK_Android.zip or MetaSDK_iOS.zip) that contains the Pixel code used for tracking app installs, purchases, and other events.

Send the SDK (Pixel Code) file via email to support@zaytech.com with the subject line:

Meta SDK for (INSERT YOUR BUSINESS NAME HERE)

Our development staff will then attach the SDK to your apps and release an update to the app stores that will include said SDK.

Step 3: Associate the App with Your Meta Business Account

1. Wait for Your App Update to Go Live

  • Before proceeding, make sure your updated app is published and available in both the App Store and Google Play.

  • You can verify this by downloading your app on your phone and checking that the latest version number matches what Zaytech provided.

  • This step is important because the Meta SDK (Pixel code) only starts tracking once it’s live in the public app.

2. Log In to Meta Events Manager

  1. Go to Meta Events Manager:

  2. Log in with the Meta Business Account that manages your business ads.

    • This should be the same account connected to your Facebook Page and ad campaigns.

  3. Once logged in, you’ll see the Data Sources Dashboard, which shows all your current connected pixels, apps, and offline events.

3. Connect a New Data Source

  1. In the top left or center of the page, click the “Connect Data Sources” button.

  2. From the options that appear, select “App.”

  3. Click “Connect” to begin the setup process for your app data source.

4. Select Your App

  1. A list of available apps will appear.

  2. Locate your app using the App Name or App ID (you got this ID when creating your app in Meta for Developers).

    • If you don’t see your app, double-check:

      • You’re logged in with the correct business account.

      • The app update with the Meta SDK has been published.

      • You have developer or admin access to the app.

  3. Click on your app to select it, then proceed to the next step.

5. Complete the Setup Process

Follow the on-screen prompts provided by Meta to finish connecting your app.
These usually include:

  • Confirming ownership of the app.

  • Allowing permissions for Meta to receive data from your app.

  • Choosing the events you want to track (such as app installs, purchases, registrations, or in-app orders).

  • Reviewing data-sharing settings, which control how Meta receives and processes event data.

When you finish, Meta will confirm that your app has been successfully connected.

6. Verify the Connection

  1. Go back to the Events Manager dashboard.

  2. Look under Data SourcesApps. Your app should now appear in the list with a green active indicator or status icon.

  3. To test the connection:

    • Open your mobile app and perform a few basic actions (like opening the app, adding an item to the cart, or completing a test order).

    • Return to Events Manager and check the Test Events tab.

    • You should see those actions appear as tracked events within a few minutes.

If no data appears after 1–2 hours, double-check your SDK integration or reach out to support@zaytech.com for assistance.

7. Why This Step Matters

Connecting your app to your Meta Business Account ensures:

  • All event data (like installs, purchases, and orders) flows directly into Meta.

  • You can optimize ads based on real actions happening inside your app.

  • Meta can deliver smarter targeting and tracking for your campaigns—helping you spend your ad budget more efficiently.

Step 4: Test App Events

To confirm your events are being received correctly:

  1. Go to Meta Events Manager

  2. Select your App Data Source

  3. Use Test Events to simulate or confirm activity in your app

If the events appear in real-time, your setup is working correctly.

Step 5: Use Events in Ads

After confirming that your app events are being tracked:

  1. Go to Meta Ads Manager

  2. Create or edit an ad campaign

  3. Choose your iOS App as the Conversion Source

  4. Select the event you want to optimize for, such as:

    • Purchase

    • App Install

    • Custom Events
