Temporarily Turning Off Online Ordering from the Clover POS Device
The Pause Online Ordering feature within the Smart Online Order application on the Clover POS device allows merchants to temporarily disable online ordering directly from the in-store device for a defined period of time.

Once online ordering is paused from the Clover device, Smart Online Order Support is NOT able to turn it back on for you

If incorrect dates or times are selected, Support cannot override or fix the schedule

If your Clover device loses power, loses internet, stops working, or is otherwise inaccessible, Support will not be able to assist

In all of the above scenarios, you must manually manage your store’s availability from the Clover Device's Smart Online Order App
- Pausing Online Ordering DOES NOT prevent advance or scheduled orders

Only temporarily closes the store during the specific dates and times you select

Does NOT block orders submitted in advance

Does NOT cancel existing or future-dated orders
Customers can still place advance orders if they submit them before the pause window begins.
If your goal is to fully block future orders, this feature will not accomplish that on its own.
Steps to Temporarily Turn Off Smart Online Order from the Clover Device
Step 1: Open the Smart Online Order App

On your Clover POS device, open the Smart Online Order application
Step 2: Pause Online Ordering

At the top of the page, click Pause Online Ordering
Step 3: Choose Menu Visibility

Select whether you want to:

Keep the menu visible (customers can see items but cannot place orders), or
-
Hide the menu entirely

Step 4: Select the Pause Duration
Choose one of the following options:

Today – Pauses ordering for the remainder of the current day until 11:59 PM

Every Day – Pauses ordering indefinitely until manually changed

Custom – Allows you to select specific dates and times when the store will be closed

If you select Custom, ensure all dates and times are correct.

Support cannot fix incorrect schedules once applied from the Clover device.

Step 5: Select or Customize the Store Closed Message

Choose a pre-made store closed message, or
-
Customize the message displayed to customers when the store is paused
Step 6: Apply Changes

Click Apply Changes in the top-right corner of the page to activate the pause
Support Limitations & Responsibility Disclaimer
Once online ordering is paused from the Clover device:

Support cannot turn ordering back on

Support cannot edit or correct pause dates or times
-
Support cannot assist if the Clover device is offline, broken, or inaccessible

Support cannot bypass or override the pause state
